50th: Pete, Anna Suerken
Pete and Anna Suerken of Marietta will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 27, with a family reunion style dinner hosted by their children at the home of the niece who served as their flower girl in Point Pleasant, W.Va.
They were married on July 27, 1963, at Harmony Baptist Church in Southside, W.Va. by the late Rev. Harry S. Miller.
She is the daughter of the late Arville and Edith Sommer of Southside, and he is the son of the late Ernst and Frieda Suerken of Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
She is a retired school teacher having taught 30 years in different school districts and retiring from Belpre City Schools. He is a retired Forester from the Ohio Division of Forestry afer 42 years.
They are the parents of a son, Pete Jr. (Cheryl) of Louisville, Ky., and a daughter, Erin (Ryan) Marr, of Dublin, Ohio. They have four grandchildren: Hunter and Tanner Suerken of Louisville, and Russell and Allison Marr of Dublin.
The couple celebrated with their chldren and grandchildren with a trip to Big Cedar Lodge in Ridgedale, Mo.
