60th: Darrell and Hester Starcher
Darrell and Hester “Butch” Blair Starcher of Palestine, W.Va. celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on March 28.
They were married on March 28, 1953, by the Rev. Vairl C. Winters at his home in Elizabeth, W.Va.
She is the daughter of the late Denzil and Virginia Blair of Palestine, W.Va. She graduated from Wirt County High School. She was a homemaker, and was employed by Blair’s Gulf Station, Tru Value and retired from Hardman’s.
He is the son of the late Harlan and Mae Starcher of Calhoun County, W.Va. He graduated from Calhoun County High School. He was in the U.S. Navy, retired from the Operating Engineers Local 132 and the Postal Service.
They are the parents of Gary L. (Becca); Connie L. (Steve); Kurt L. (Kathy) and Kyle L. (deceased). They are the grandparents of Bryan, Alisha, Brandi, Courtney, Jacob and Kylee with several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
An open house will be held in their honor at the Wirt County Senior Citizens Building in Elizabeth from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sept. 21. Cards are welcomed. No gifts please, your presence is enough.
