60th: Douglas, Marilyn Farr

Douglas R. and Marilyn E. Farr are celebrated their 60th anniversary. They were married June 12, 1954, in Rockford, Ill. Following their marriage he accepted a commission as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army and they were sent to the Panama Canal Zone where he served for 2 1/2 years in a AAA Gun Battalion. Following his discharge from the Army he received a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois. They both retired from Farr Manufacturing & Engineering Company.

They are the parents of four children: Douglas R. Jr. (Jane) of Marietta, David (Kari) of Shelbyville, Ind., Bradley of Williamstown, W.Va., and Catherine Scott (Trevor) of Prior Lake, Minn.

They are the grandparents of 10 grandchildren: David Farr of Solon, Ohio, Randi Tolbert (Tony) of Indianapolis, Ind., John Farr (Jessica) of Toledo, Ohio, Nicole Farr of Dayton, Ohio, Brian Farr of San Mateo, Calif., Delaine Farr of Little Rock, Ark., Wendy Akers (Gary) of Winchester, Va., Lt. Army Cunningham (Conner) of Biloxi, Miss., Laura Farr of Williamstown, W. Va., and Aidan Scott of Prior Lake, Minn. They have four great-grandchildren: Conner and Daniel Akers, Carson Tolbert, and Adeline Farr.
