50th: Ida and Ronald Watts
Ida and Ronald Watts will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception on Saturday, Oct. 29, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Williamstown Women’s Clubhouse in Tomlinson Park, 112 7th St., Williamstown. Friends and family are invited to stop by. No gifts please, only cards.
They were married Nov. 4, 1966 at Gilman United Methodist Church in Marietta.
Ronald served in the United States Army for 3 years and was stationed in West Berlin, Germany. After 38 years as a postal carrier for the United States Post Office, he retired in 2008.
He now enjoys his time volunteering with funeral duty with the American Legion Post 64 in Marietta.
Ida retired as a nurse from Marietta Memorial Hospital after working 25 years in the Chemical Dependency Services program in 2009.
They are members of the Open Door Baptist Church in Marietta.
They enjoy their spare time now helping with the Franciscan Meal program delivering meals and helping with activities at the American Legion Post 64 in Marietta. They also enjoy spending time with their family and their dog, Maggie.
They have one son, Timothy (Marcia) who reside in Lexington, Ky. with their dog, Molly.
