Bill and Janet Kidd

Bill and Janet Kidd of Lower Salem will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their children from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at the Lower Salem Village Hall, 97 Main St., Lower Salem. It is requested that gifts be omitted.

The couple were married on March 30, 1968 at Watertown Presbyterian Church. Dr. Charles Pindar and A. Boyd Killough were the officiating ministers.

Bill is the son of the late Robert and Dorothy Kidd of Moss Run. Janet is the daughter of the late Neal and Helen Milner of Waterford.

Bill is a partially retired barber at the Lower Salem Barbershop. He still enjoys farming, is a past trustee for Salem Township and is a retired bulk milk hauler. Janet is retired after 34 years of teaching.

They have children, Sarah Kidd Casseday (Russ) and Joe Kidd (Jessica), both of Lower Salem; and grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Christopher Joseph and Abigail Casseday, Kesselyn Bigley, and Evelyn and Madeline Kidd, all of Lower Salem.

The couple are active in the Lower Salem United Methodist Church, Little Muskingum Grange, Washington County Pomona Grange, Ohio State and National Grange, Frontier Local Economic Development Association, Order of the Eastern Star, Farm Bureau and Ohio Cattlemen’s Association. Bill is active in Aurelius (Macksburg) Masonic Lodge, and is on the village council. Janet is clerk-treasurer for the Village of Lower Salem, Delta Kappa Gamma, Society for Key Women Educators, and The United Methodist Women.

Bill and Janet met at the Washington County Fair at the Farm Bureau stand.
