Steven Hendershot of Whipple and Tina Hendershot of Marietta announce the engagement of their daughter Maggie W. Hendershot to Samuel K. Tuten, son of Keith and Tamara Tuten of Marietta.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Maxine Erb of Whipple, and the late Richard and Mary Hendershot of Whipple. She is a 2011 graduate of Ohio University and employed at United Bank.

The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Janet and the late Roger Sowers of Seneca Lake, and Harold and Diane Tuten of Marietta. He is a 2011 graduate of Ohio State University and 2015 graduate of the College of Charleston in Charleston, South Carolina. He is employed with the City of Parkersburg.

The couple will be married on Oct. 20 at McLeod Plantation in Charleston, S.C., later this year.
