Bryan Tyler Tuten and Jessica Kate Sexton announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of Michael and Kelley Sexton, of Hampton, N.H., and the granddaughter of Ronald and Elaine Godin, of Moultonborough, N.H., and the late Joseph and Barbara Sexton, of Methuen, MA. She is a 2008 graduate of Salem High School, in Salem, N.H., and a 2012 graduate of University of New Hampshire, where she earned her bachelor’s of science degree in biomedical science. She obtained her masters of public health degree in epidemiology at Georgia Southern University in 2015. After completing a two-year fellowship for the Centers for Disease Control in Lilongwe, Malawi, Africa, she has joined Bryan in Brisbane, where she has begun her PhD studies at the University of Queensland in the field of epidemiology.
The prospective bridegroom is the son of Dave and Jerilyn Tuten of Calvert City, KY. He is the grandson of Harold and Diane Tuten of Marietta, and the late Joseph B. and Charlotte Johnson, of Marietta. He is a 2006 graduate of Marietta High School, and received his bachelor’s of science degree in materials chemistry from West Virginia Wesleyan University in 2010. He obtained his PhD in materials science and engineering from the University of New Hampshire in 2016, after which he began a post-doctorate fellowship in Karlsruhe, Germany at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. After one year in Germany, he is now continuing that fellowship at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia in the field of polymer and macromolecular chemistry.
The couple became engaged in 2016, at the top of Pfander Mountain in Bregenz, Austria, where they were vacationing.
The wedding will take place in June, 2018, at the Wentworth by the Sea Resort in New Castle, N.H., and will be officiated by two of their very good friends–Emma (Anderson) Ware, of Marietta, and Tyler Maddox, of Atlanta, GA.
The bride’s brother, Alex Sexton, of Hampton, NH, and the groom’s sisters, Bethany Tuten, of Hilliard, OH, and Paige Tuten, of Indianapolis, IN, will be among the attendants at their wedding.
