From staff reports

The Peoples Bank Theatre will present a pair of holiday-themed events through the second half of December.

Peoples Bank Theatre will present its annual Hometown Holiday celebration at 7 p.m. Saturday at the theater on Putnam Street in downtown Marietta.

Tickets are $12. Full event details and ticket information are available at peoplesbanktheatre.com or by calling the box office at 740-371-5152. Walk-up hours at the box office, located in The Stage Door at 224 Putnam St., are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and one-to-two hours prior to most performances.

The Hometown Holiday celebration features music and dance performances by Marietta and Parkersburg area youth ensembles. This year’s special guests will be performers Faith Anderson and Jon Hartlage.

The featured ensembles will include Marietta Dance Academy, Gels Dance Centre, PACE Dance Studio, Marietta High School Vocal Point, Marietta High School Cantabile Choir, Marietta Middle School 6th-8th Grade Choir, Marietta High School Marquettes, Marietta Ukulele Choir, High Schools That Rock, Bone and Fiddle Dance Collective and the Schrader Youth Ballet Schraderettes.

On Wednesday, the PBT will present “The Not So Silent Night Tour” with Phil Vassar and Lonestar at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $48 to $144.

Throughout the show, the audience will have the chance to hear Christmas standards, non-traditional holiday tunes, as well as the artists’ hits. In true holiday spirit, the fan-favorite acts will support The Salvation Army with their tour and single release.

Vassar is a piano-pounding powerhouse on stage who taps into his audiences via social media for song requests throughout his more than 135 shows a year. His reign of signature songs include 10 No. 1 singles and 26 Top 40 hits, including “Carlene,” “Just Another Day in Paradise,” “Six-Pack Summer,” “When I Love You” and many more, including songs he wrote for other top artists before beginning his own performing career.

Lonestar is known for merging their country roots with strong melodies and rich vocals. Lonestar features Richie McDonald (lead vocals), Michael Britt (lead guitar and backing vocals), Keech Rainwater (drums) and Dean Sams (keyboards and backing vocals). The band has sold in excess of ten million album units since their national launch in 1995, and achieved ten No. 1 country hits including “No News,” “Come Crying To Me” and their crossover smash “Amazed.”
