Price-Wood

On June 22, 2013, the same date as the birthday of her late grandfather, David Edward Ralph, Whitney Elizabeth Price, daughter of Jeff and Sue Price of Marietta, married Ryan Thomas Wood, son of Sheri Wood of Versailles, Ky. and Craig Wood of Carrollton, Ky. in a double ring ceremony at the First Unitarian Universalist Church in Marietta. The Rev. Kathryn Hawbaker officiated the 6:30 p.m. ceremony. Lauren Zahn of New York, N.Y. Austin Price, brother of the bride and his fiancee, Anne Ohliger, both of Sacramento, Calif., were vocalists. Tommy Chase of New Orleans, La. served as guitarist.

The bride wore a soft, ivory, cotton, and tulle Empire wedding gown named “Queen Anne’s Lace” with English lace bodice, hem, silk, ribbon ties, and beaded applique. Casey Price, sister of the bride from Nelsonville, Ohio, served as maid of honor. Kaitlyn Goglin of Seattle, Wash., Erica Earhart of Marietta, Anne Ohliger of Sacramento, Calif., Haydon Warren and Katie Sutherland, both of Lexington, Ky., served as bridesmaids. They wore unique dresses in varying effervescent hues of champagne and carried bouquets of zinnias, Queen Anne’s lace, daisies and various wild flowers crafted by the maid of honor.

The bridegroom’s brother, Taylor Wood of Lexington, Ky., served as best man. Brandon McHenry of Pikeville, Ky., Tucker Willis of Lexington, Ky., Austin Price of Sacramento, Calif., Corey Dillow of Lexington, Ky., and Jabel Parayil of Chicago, Ill. were groomsmen.

The flower girl was Isabelle Cheroff, cousin of the bride from Atlanta, Ga. Her escort and ring bearer was Jake Kosko from Louisville, Ky.

The bride and bridegroom were blessed with the attendance of all their living grandparents which included Bill and Beverly Wood of El Paso, Texas, Jan and Jo Acrea of Somerset, Ky., and Mary Imogene Ralph of Cranberry, Pa. The reception, at Heiss Hollow, was catered by the bride’s aunt, Barb Ralph of Guys Mills, Pa. Guests were served wine from the bride’s uncle’s winery. There was a disc jockey playing dance music all evening.

After a honeymoon in Cancun, Mexico the bride and bridegroom will begin their married life in Louisville, Ky. He is an attorney with Darby and Gazak P.S.C. and she as a third year law student at the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law. For the summer she is a law clerk at Vaughn & Smith, PLLC.
