Brooks-Gomes

Mallory Nicole Brooks and Christian Michael Gomes were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. on June 7 at Beechwood Presbyterian Church in Parkersburg. The double ring ceremony was officiated by the Rev. Jay Stevens.

The bride is the daughter of Jeffery and Tammie Brooks of Vincent. She is the granddaughter of Sue Brooks and Ken and Karen Newbrough, all of Vienna, W.Va.

She received her bachelor of science degree in athletic training from Wheeling Jesuit and is working on her master’s degree at Marshall University. She is an athletic trainer at Marshall University.

The bridegroom is the son of Mike and Sharon Gomes. He is the grandson of Mel and Dorothy Toups of Maryland.

He received his bachelor of science degree in accounting from Wheeling Jesuit and is working on his master’s degree at Marshall University. He is employed at the Economic and Finance Department at Marshall University.

The bride was presented in marriage by her father. She wore a long white satin dress with sweetheart neckline and diamond beading along the waist and bodice and a long train. The veil had matching beads. She carried orange roses, peonies, white succulents and English grape ivy.

The maid of honor was Mackenzie L. Brooks, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Dana Newbrough, Kristin Jones, Megan Cambell, Ashley White, Samantha Gomes and Samantha P. Newbrough. They all wore tangerine knee length dresses with one shoulder strap of gathered lace and silver beaded shoes. The flower girl was Sydney Mae Newbrough.

Ryan Gomes served as best man. Groomsmen were Ethan Horn, Keith Newbrough, Drew Dorsey and Stephen Speck. Ushers were Logan Marshall, Ricky Kump, Steven Buck and Galen Jones. The ring bearer was Trent Lawrentz.

Guests were registered by Haley Marshall and Somer Sanders. The reception was held at the Marietta Country Club.

The couple took a wedding trip to Curacao. They reside in Huntington.
