Marks-Wass

Kayla Nicole Marks and Aaron John Wass were united marriage at 2:30 p.m. May 21, 2016 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Parkersburg. The Rev. Glenn Perry officiated the private, double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Bonnita Marks of Fleming and the bridegroom is the son of Daniel and Nancy Wass.

Violinist was Lauren Sexton and Liz Sexton. Pianist was Alisha Sexton. Vocalist was Rebekah Postlewait.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father. She wore a strapless drop waist ball gown of white lace and French tulle. The gown featured a Swarovski crystal trim at the sweetheart neckline and a lace trimmed chapel train and was complemented by a two-layered fingertip veil of glitter net.

The bride carried nosegay of soft pink and hot pink peonies, soft pink and white roses and hot pink spray roses and baby’s breath stems wrapped in white satin with criss cross twist of tiffany blue ribbon embellished with white buttons from the bride’s gown.

Maid of honor was Alex Stoops. She wore classically elegant long bridesmaid gowns of pool chiffon featuring a draped sweetheart neckline with ruched straps. A flattering empire waistline flows gracefully into the floor length skirt. She carried nosegay’s of baby’s breath and hot pink spray roses wrapped in hot pink satin ribbon with criss cross twist of white ribbon embellished with a button from the bride’s gown.

The bridesmaids were Brooke Hamende, Sydney Bissonette and Tara Helton. They wore dresses and carried flowers identical to the maid of honor.

Flower girl was Camy Schaad.

Best man was Sam Tubb.

Groomsmen were Sal Morrone, Jim Cohrs and Josh Helminiak.

Ushers were Kristian Marks, Nate Wass, Matt Wass, and David Wass.

Ring bearer was Ian Marks.

Guests were registered by Katy Lane and Hunter Lane.

The bride graduated from Cedarville University in 2015 and received a master’s from Liberty University in 2016. She will be seeking employment after relocating.

The bridegroom is a 2015 graduate of Cedarville University, and currently in graduate school at Eastern Michigan University. He is an athletic training graduate assistant for football.

The bride is the granddaughter of David and Marolyn DeLancey and Frank and Lynda Marks. The bridegroom is the grandson of John and Rosalie Kleis and Robert and Marian Wass.

A reception was held at the Parkersburg Art Center. The couple took a wedding trip to the Riviera Maya, Cancun, Mexico, and now reside in Ypsilanti, Mich.
