Wine and cheese reception for Kerenyi

A wine and cheese reception benefiting the Committee to Elect Mark Kerenyi for Judge will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Campus Martius Museum, 601 Second St, Marietta. The event is free, however donations to the campaign will be accepted.

‘German Marietta’ author to sign books

Jann Kuehn Adams will be signing her newest book, “German Marietta and Washington County,” from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Riverside Artists Gallery, 219 Second St., Marietta.

Spaghetti dinner

to sponsor trip

A spaghetti dinner will be held to sponsor Courtney and Dava Clark on their mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Watertown Presbyterian Church will hold the dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 1, at the Watertown Fire Department on Ohio 676.

The Clarks are attending Ohio University and are involved in a group called Reach Out On Campus. Several members of Reach Out On Campus will be headed to the Dominican Republic to complete various mission projects over the Christmas/New Year’s break this year.

Donations will be accepted in lieu of a cost per meal.  Dine in or carry-out will be available.

Blood drive Monday at Norwood church

An American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 1 to 5:45 p.m. Monday at Norwood United Methodist Church, 23 Colegate Drive, Marietta. Anyone interested in donating blood can call 740-525-9866 to sign up.

Lowell benefit to

help Terry Boyd

A benefit will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Lowell Elementary School for Terry Boyd, who is undergoing treatment for cancer of the brain, liver and colon. The benefit will include a country store, silent auction, Sue’s (Mahoney) Sweet Corner Bake Sale and a dinner of soup bean and cornbread, dessert, coffee, sweet or unsweetened tea and bottled water. The cost is a donation.
