What’s ahead

NEW- Personal Manicures & Pedicures by Heather, Mondays, beginning Sept. 12, 9 a.m. Heather McCauley comes to us with 30 years’ experience with nail care. Manicure and pedicure appointments will each last 30 minutes, you may schedule one or both–all done in the privacy of our health screening room. Cost is $18 for a manicure and $30 for a pedicure. Gel polish is available for an additional $10. Call to schedule your appointment time today. Appointment times begin at 9 a.m.

Fall Harvest, 5 p.m., Oct. 31 — Come join us as we celebrate the beauty of fall with friends and celebrate an evening of food, fun and musical entertainment by the Country Pickers. $5 provides you with light dinner, drinks and fun.

Are you an Energy Saver? — 1 p.m. Nov. 2. This interactive program will get you thinking about how well you do on saving energy in your home. Presented by Andrew Tinkman, Senior Outreach and Education Program Specialist Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel. Call to show interest. Refreshments and a door prize will be provided.

Dinner with a Doctor, 5 p.m., Nov. 7. Dr. Petrov is a general/thoracic surgeon, specializing in thoracic oncology, lung and esophageal surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Sponsors for this free Dinner with Doctor are Comfort Keepers, Genesis Marietta Health and Rehab, O’Neill Center and Memorial Health Systems. Call to reserve your seat as seating is limited. Please bring an item for the blizzard bags and enjoy a free dinner.

Honoring Veterans’ Day — “Wounded Warriors, their last battle,” 1 p.m. Nov. 11. Combat soldiers have often seen the worst mankind has to offer. It changes them in fundamental ways, inflicting emotional, spiritual, social and moral injuries that impact them throughout their lifetime, especially as they age. To honor Veterans’ Day, we will be showing Deborah Grassman’s presentation of the wounded warrior video.

Canvas Painting Party — Nov. 15 ¯ 5:30-9 p.m. With our step-by-step instruction method, customers without a stroke of painting experience are at ease. Wine and Canvas® is not just a paint class, it is art entertainment at its finest. Participants will be completing a winter scene during this class. Best part is, you take your artwork with you and leave the clean up behind! $40 includes all painting supplies and your finished masterpiece, refreshments, aprons, and clean up. Please call early as space is limited and must be prepaid.

Red Hatters Events — Newly organized with exciting events planned for the fourth Monday of each month. Membership is $20 per year.

Nov. 21 ¯ 12 p.m.: Lunch at O’Neill Center, then Wii bowling

Dec. 19 ¯ 11 a.m.: Lunch at Applebee’s, Pike St., Marietta

Alzheimer’s Support Group meeting at O’Neill Center, the first Thursday of each month at

2:30pm. O’Neill Center Adult Care center ill be open for new clients and with Thursday evening hours they are available until 7 p.m.

Healing a Spouses Grieving Heart- A group discussion on the various issues facing a widow/widower, held on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 1- 2:30pm, A support group for the grief of all loses will be held on the 4th Tuesday each month at 3 p.m.

O’Neill Singers — This group of volunteers spread their cheerful voices to all area

Senior living homes and practice at the O’Neill Center the first Wed and the last Wed each month. Please call for more information on becoming part of this community volunteer group.

Massage Appointments 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Friday each month. Please call for appointment times and reservations.

Line Dance with Donnie, day classes Tuesdays, 9:30am, $5

Beginning Sept 8, Evening line dance on Thursdays, 6:30pm Beginners, 7:40pm advanced.

Fun & Fit Exercise Class — Geared to seniors 50+, a fun fitness class using bands, weights and low impact aerobics set to lively music. $12 per month, classes Monday, Wed & Fridays, 11:30am-noon, Taught by Candi Hall-Cisler, personal trainer.
