2 men arrested on drug charges

PARKERSBURG — Two men passing through the area were arrested Tuesday after heroin and cocaine  were found in their car, the Parkersburg Police Department said.

According to a release from the department,  Brandon T. Hardy, 35, of 20888 Bethlawn St., Ferndale, Mich., and Rudy O. Davis, 41, of 5221 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston Salem, N.C., were stopped in a red Chevrolet Malibu traveling south on Interstate 77 within Parkersburg city limits. An agent of the Parkersburg  Narcotics Task Force had followed the vehicle and noted its speed was between 57 and 62 mph in a 70-mph zone.

A Parkersburg Police Department K9, Cedrick, made a positive indication for the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, the release says. A search of the passenger compartments yielded a bag containing syringes and multiple packages of heroin and cocaine, with more heroin found under a seat.

About 1 gram of heroin and 7 grams of heroin were seized, the release says.

The occupants in the vehicle stated they were traveling from Detroit to a location in North Carolina. Martin said he is not sure of their actual destination but does not believe it was Wood County.

“I don’t think they were coming to Parkersburg,” he said.

Both men were arrested.
