Electric co-ops offer leadership tour to Washington
High-school sophomores and juniors whose parents are members of Washington Electric Cooperative are invited to apply for a once-in-a-lifetime leadership experience this summer in Washington, D.C.
More than 1,500 students from all across America take part in Youth Tour, an all expenses paid week-long trip to our nation’s capital. This unique trip gives participants the opportunity to watch history come alive as they explore museums, memorials, and monuments with other students from Ohio. In addition to meeting their congressional representatives, participants will meet other student leaders from nearly every state and will hear dynamic leaders on Youth Day. And one of the best parts is making friendships that will last a lifetime, and being part of a group with more than 50,000 alumni in every walk of life, including U.S. senators and CEOs.
Washington Electric Cooperative will sponsor two students to attend this year’s Youth Tour, which will take place from June 9 to 15. Applications are available online http://weci.org/content/youth-programs. The deadline to apply is March 22. Questions may be directed to Jennifer Greene, director of marketing and member services, at 740-885-5950.
Washington Electric is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative serving portions of six counties in southeastern Ohio. It is headquartered in Marietta.
