Anyone 16 years or older qualifies to get an adult passport book that will be good for 10 years, and anyone under 16 can apply for a minor passport book that would be good for only 5 years. Anyone under 16 must have both mother and father present to sign, or must have acceptable documentation allowing only one parent to apply for the minor passport. Passport books are $110 for an adult book, $30 for the adult passport card. Minor books are $80 and the minor passport cards are $15. Each passport will also be charged a $25 execution fee, as well as $15 for the photo. Passport books are good for any kind of travel (land, sea, or air), while the passport card is only valid for land or sea travel to (Canada, Bermuda, Mexico and the Caribbean).
