Honeysuckle Hills

On March 12, the second 2017 meeting of the Honeysuckle Hills 4-H Club was called to order by Vice President Elizabeth Burdiss. The meeting was lead by 2016 officers. The pledges were lead by Allison Florence and Morgan McCartney. Christopher Burdiss read a devotion. Roll call was done by vice president Elizabeth by your favorite candy bar. There were eight members present, one cloverbud, and five absent. The cloverbud were then dismissed with Mr. Dean. The secretary report was read by Elizabeth with no corrections or additions. The treasurer’s report was read by Gavin McCartney. Old business included advisor Beth Sinclair reporting on 4-H open house. The club’s promotional display won Best Theme and poster won best part of being in 4-H. Candy bar sales ended March 24. Endowment Dinner was March 18. Enrollment is due April 9. New business included officer training is April 3 and Camp Clean up is April 8. Announcements were read by vice president Elizabeth. The program was election of officers. Adjournment was motioned by Christopher and seconded by Morgan. Recreation was lead by Elizabeth. The refreshments were provided by Sinclair family.

Soaring Eagles

Soaring Eagles 4-H meeting, March 19. Cala Curtis called the meeting to order, the pledge of allegiance and the 4-H pledge was led by Ethan Rinard and Gail Depuy III. Dawn Gutberlet our advisor took roll call — 16 present. Ethan Rinard and Gail Depuy III graduated from cloverbuds to 4-H members.

Gutberlet distributed checks for market animals. Corby Curtis motioned to pay all the bills, Jacob Gutberlet second the motion. Gutberlet went over deadlines and registration forms were passed out. Ethan Rinard motioned to have club insurance; Luckas Reed second the motion.

The club voted for president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, recreation leaders, safety leaders, photographers, news reporter, and scrapbooks Isabella Rinard was voted president, Cala Curtis was voted vice president. Mariah Mason was voted as secretary. Jacob Gutberlet was voted treasurer. Luckas Reed, Tice Curtis, and Ethan Rinard was voted recreation leaders, Corby Curtis, Hayden Miller, and Billy Butler was voted safety leaders. Morgan Beaver and Tabi Strickler was voted Photographers, Megan Beaver was voted News Reporter. Grace Rinard and Abby Burton were voted as historian (scrapbooks).

The club’s next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. April 9. Luckas Reed will be bringing the snack for next meeting. Easter eggs will be ready the week of April 3. Corby Curtis motioned to end the meeting. Ethan Rinard seconded it.

Backyard Gang

The March meeting of the Backyard Gang 4-H Club was held March 15 at the Stanleyville Community Building. The American Pledge led by Tyler Hartline, 4-H pledge was led by Anna Moore. Secretary’s report was given by Tyler Hartline and was approved as read. Treasurer’s report was given by Julia Hartline. Safety tip “Don’t drink and drive” given by Brett Bauerbach. Health tip “Eat Heathly” given by Alayna Biehl. Alex Bauerbach announced that our club received Most Unique and Creative Award for the poster contest. The Club esembed a basket with sports items to be donated to the Endowment Dinner. Along with 6 pine cone wreaths. Election of officers is as follows: President Alex Bauerbach, Vice President Hailey Moore, Secretary Tyler Hartline, Treasurer Julia Hartline, News Reporter Kari Bauerbach, Safety Officer Owen Heslop, Health Officer Brett Bauerbach, Community Service Officer Anna Moore, Historian Riley Dunbarger, Fundraiser Officer Jared Heslop, and Recreation Emma Bauerbach. The meeting was adjourned followed by snack provided by the Moore’s.

Marietta Junior Reading Club

The Marietta Junior Reading Club met at the Betsey Mills Club on March 14, with 19 attendees. A social hour preceded the catered dinner, which was hosted by Gail Popp and Denis Boggs. President Roger Bartunek led the business meeting. For the evening’s program, Marian Kurner presented The Bellwether: Why Ohio Picks the President, by Kyle Kondik (2016). The next meeting will be on April 11.
