¯ An officer was dispatched March 30 to Third Street Music on a follow-up call. While there it was learned that a guitar amp had gone missing sometime around the beginning of March.

¯ The groundskeeper at Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, 500 N. Fourth St., reported March 30 that a theft had occurred at the beginning of March. He reported it because it was a repeat incident and because multiple items were discovered missing on March 30. The stolen items included a brass cross about 9 to 12 inches tall, which had been taken in early March, and a brass candle top, an incense pot and one plastic candle holder partially filled with decorative mosaic tile.

¯ A Marietta High School employee reported March 30 that the administration was having trouble with a female student being disorderly in the cafeteria in front of staff and students. The student refused to comply with wishes of staff and police. The juvenile student was arrested and taken to the police station where she was picked up by her mother.

¯ Tom Bobbitt, of Williamstown, reported March 30 the misuse of a credit card. Investigation with the credit card company and companies involved with charges made to the card in question will follow.

¯ Officers responded to Weber’s Market, 301 Scammel St., on March 30 for a report of an assault of an employee who caught shoplifters. An investigation was conducted resulting in the arrest of Lisa Lee Runnion and Eric Dean Barth, both of 307 Maple St., for robbery and assault. A request for a warrant for arrest was submitted for a third suspect, Glenn Roger Johnson, last known address 116 Harmar St., who was also identified at the scene and was involved in the robbery and assault.

¯ On March 31, an officer was dispatched to Marietta Memorial Hospital, 401 Matthew St., in reference to property that needed to be disposed of. Upon arrival the officer was given possession of a .38 special handgun obtained from a patient that had recently passed away. The gun will be taken into evidence for proper disposal.

¯ Zachary K. Gerken, of Coolville, reported March 31 a theft from Franklin Fire, 158 Warner St. He said he had left a transmission on the ground by a scrap barrel. A regular customer stopped by and picked the scrap metal up and also picked up his transmission. The customer then took the transmission to the scrap yard. The complainant called the customer who then checked with the scrap yard but the transmission had already been disposed of. An officer contacted the customer and both parties agreed to work it out between themselves.

¯ Charissa J. Biehl, of 800 Robinson Hill Road, Marietta, reported March 31 that while she was working the previous day someone had stolen her non-narcotic medication.

¯ On April 1, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of N. Third Street for a driver with no headlights on. During the stop, a male identified as Timothy William Sheets, of 5091 Buchanan Road, Waterford, walked to the vehicle and asked why his wife was being pulled over. Sheets was advised to the reason for the traffic stop. Sheets then got into a physical altercation with another officer which was started by Sheets obstructing official police business. Sheets was placed into custody and transported to the Washington County Jail.

¯ Officers were dispatched to Second Street on April 2 in reference to a sex crime. The victim advised that a male she knew had contacted her and wanted to meet with her. The victim and suspect met each other at her residence. The victim advised officers that during the night that the suspect had committed a sex crime against her. The case is under further investigation.

¯ On April 2, an officer initiated a traffic stop due to a suspended operator in the driver’s seat. Glenn Roger Johnson was located in the passenger front seat and was taken into custody on two active warrants. During a search of his person, several items of drug paraphernalia were located, along with two small baggies containing methamphetamine. These items field tested positive for methamphetamine. Johnson was additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia.

¯ Jenny L. Robinson, of 836 Fourth St., Marietta, reported a burglary April 4. Upon arrival an officer found that the door was kicked in and a loaf of bread was missing. This case is still under investigation.

¯ An assault of a developmentally disabled adult by an employee of Wasco Inc. was reported April 4. After investigation it was found that the employee did not knowingly assault the man.

¯ Officers were dispatched to Microtel, 506 Pike St., on April 5 to a theft of a motor vehicle belonging to All Quality Construction of Charleston, W.Va.

¯ An officer was dispatched April 5 to the area in front of the armory for a report of a white male with a ball cap on backwards asking people if they wanted to buy a watch. It was also reported that he had luggage sitting on the park bench. Upon arrival, no one was around. Officers searched the area and were unable to locate anyone matching that description. The luggage was taken.

¯ An officer along with the Washington County dog warden were dispatched on April 5 to 607 Cutler St. in reference to a dog bite. The dog was located after biting an additional person within the 300 block of N. Seventh Street. After multiple attempts of trying to apprehend the aggressive dog, an officer shot and killed it.

¯ An officer was dispatched April 5 to Peebles Department store, 450 Pike St., in reference to a disturbance between a male and female. Upon arrival the male had already left the scene. The female, identified as Heather Renee Smith, of Washington, W.Va., was incoherent. A squad was contacted to check on her medical condition. She advised she wanted to go to Marietta Memorial Hospital so she was transported by a squad from the Marietta Fire Department. After being released she was arrested for possessing drug abuse instruments.

¯ Marietta High School administration reported April 5 that a student was cursing at teachers, disrupting class and refusing to obey. The student was suspended out of school and charges were requested.

¯ Officers responded April 5 to 205 Gibbons St., where three people had overdosed. All three were revived with Narcan and transported for hospital treatment.

¯ Lowe’s, 842 Pike St., reported a shoplifting in progress April 5. Dispatch gave a description of the three suspects and the possible vehicle. An officer interviewed the suspects, who confessed, and recovered the stolen property.

¯ Patricia Larrison, of 240 Hillcrest Drive 38, reported a trespasser on April 5. Upon arrival, officers made contact with Anthony Robert Larrison, of 2109 Benedict Road, Fleming, outside the residence.

Larrison had been warned earlier in the evening by officers not to return to the residence. Larrison was arrested for criminal trespass and disorderly conduct.

¯ An employee of Allstate, 706 Pike St., reported a theft on Thursday.

¯ An officer responded to 122 Harmar St. Friday for a complaint of domestic violence against Brenda McRhea. Kelly Jane Farnsworth was arrested for domestic violence and assault.

¯ Stephanie G. Nichols, of 208 E. Montgomery St., reported Friday that her boyfriend, Cody Raymond Miller, of 910 Caywood Road, was attempting to force entry into her home and threatening the family inside. Upon arriving in the area, an officer located Miller nearby on a porch and he was taken to the police station during the investigation. It was revealed that Miller damaged two doors at the home and threatened to burn the house down with the female caller and her children inside it. He also threatened to kidnap the youngest child. He was charged with domestic violence and criminal damaging.

¯ As an officer was on patrol Sunday on Marion Street approaching Third Street two people were witnessed walking by the Morgan Chiropractic building. The male subject was identified as Dakota Hines and as he was walking away he dropped a billy club on the ground. Hines was ordered to stop and leave the weapon on the ground. He immediately picked up the weapon and fled on foot. A warrant has been requested.

¯ Misty D. Griffin, of 308 Harmar St., reported Sunday that sometime overnight an unknown suspect threw eggs at an SUV there.

Reports/Washington County

¯ Randall A. Bradford, of 1710 Centerbend Road, Beverly, reported Thursday that his trailer, which was parked off of Ohio 821, was entered and a tool set, leaf blower and weed eater were removed. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A deputy responded to Warren High School on Friday in reference to school officials finding drug paraphernalia. This case remains under investigation.

¯ On Friday, a deputy began an investigation in reference to a Dunham Township resident being the victim of identity theft. This case remains under investigation.
