Business After Hours at Boathouse BBQ

Join the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, May 18, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. for its monthly Business After Hours hosted by Boathouse BBQ, 218 Virginia St., Marietta.

Business After Hours is an informal gathering hosted by a different Chamber member each month. This is a great opportunity for networking, meeting new contacts, and relaxing. Appetizers and drinks will be served, along with door prizes, and a drawing for $400 Marietta Bucks (must be present to win).

The cost is $5 for chamber members and $10 for the general public and members that want to be invoiced. Boost Your Business Workshop

The next Boost Your Business workshop will be Tuesday, May 9, at Huntington Bank, 226 Third St., Marietta. The topic is “Tax Strategies for Small Business Owners.” The featured speaker is Jodey Altier, Perry & Associates.

Boost Your Business is a monthly workshop co-hosted by Marietta Main Street, Small Business Development Center and the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce. Join us for an hour of discussion geared towards helping you better your business and increase sales.

Light breakfast refreshments and coffee provided by Huntington Bank on Third Street in Marietta. This event is free and open to the public. RSVP by emailing info@mariettamainstreet.org.

Coffee Chat at the Marietta chamber

The staff of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce will have their monthly Coffee Chat on Friday, May 26, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Coffee Chat is an opportunity for MACC members to voice their interests, share their views and share news about your business.

The chat will be in the conference room, located at 100 Front St., Suite 200, in Marietta.

MOV Safety Council meeting May 17

The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council will be meeting on Wednesday, May 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Marietta Shrine Club located at 249 Pennsylvania Ave. in Marietta. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon.

This month is “Have You Lost Your Mind … Fullness?” with guest speaker Kelly Glass, McDonald’s.

The cost of the meeting is $15 for Safety Council members (includes lunch). Membership in Safety Council is open to representatives of business and industry in the Mid-Ohio Valley interested in improving safety awareness in the workplace.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council is a program of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce co-sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation Division of Safety & Hygiene. Companies can earn up to 4 percent rebate on their workers compensation premium through participation in the Safety Council.

Luncheons are held with presentations on a wide variety of safety subjects as requested by the membership. Safety Council meets monthly, usually on the third Wednesday of each month.

Professional Women’s Roundtable Special Event

The Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Professional Women’s Roundtable with the next meeting scheduled for Wednesday, May 24, at Undo’s on the Pike located at 700 Pike St., Marietta from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Topic for this month is “Spring Wine Tasting” at Undo’s on the Pike! This is a special time and evening event.

The Professional Women’s Roundtable (PoWeR) is an opportunity for area professional and business women to meet and discuss issues and share ideas. The cost of each meeting is $10 for members and $15 for the general public, and includes lunch. Reservations are required. Note: if you RSVP and do not show you will still be charged due to the cost and amount of food ordered.
