LOWELL MAN DIES IN BULLDOZER ACCIDENT

From staff reports

A Lowell man is dead after his bulldozer rolled over him Monday night.

Gene Newlon, 49, of Lowell, was clearing property to build a fence and as he was going up a hill, the bulldozer flipped over and pinned him underneath, according to Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks.

His grandson witnessed the accident and called for help.

Mincks said the call came in just before 9 p.m. on Monday and Newlon was still under the bulldozer until about 10 p.m. It happened at 2250 Huck Road, located on the west side of the Muskingum River.

The Oak Grove Fire Department, L-A Fire Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call.
