From local reports

The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council (MOVSC), a program of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce, announces it has been named the 3rd top-rated safety council in the state of Ohio by the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC).

The MOVSC received the number-three ranking on Monday, May 1, at the Safety Council Manager’s Conference held in Columbus. The MOVSC was ranked third out of 81 safety councils statewide for its exemplary performance, communication, training and employer participation.

“We appreciate the outstanding effort of the Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council to develop and deliver high quality safety information and training to its members. The program is improving and expanding each year, offering employers a valuable resource in southeastern Ohio,” said Michelle Francisco, Safety Council program manager, BWC Division of Safety and Hygiene. Carrie Ankrom, president and CEO of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce, added, “The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council works year-round to help educate employers on the prevention of occupational accidents and disease. Congratulations to the MACC staff, the dedicated volunteers on the MOVSC Board of Directors, and council members on this well-deserved award.”

The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council is comprised of 122 members, drawing members from a multi-county area of southeast Ohio. The MOVSC has one common vision: to provide innovative safety services for business and industry. Throughout the year, the MOVSC sponsors monthly safety-focused luncheons, half-day specific training seminars, and an annual CEO awards banquet.
