Peoples Bank Foundation makes YMCA donation
Peoples Bank Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit corporation formed to make donations in Peoples Bank market areas, recently awarded two donations totaling $7,000 to the Marietta Family YMCA in support of the organization’s camp bus and youth summer camp.
The donations will provide $4,000 towards the purchase of a new bus for transportation of campers to off-site locations and during the school year for field trips. A separate donation of $3,000 was made to the Marietta Family YMCA’s youth summer camp.
“The YMCA’s summer day camp programs provide young people with a safe and enriching environment,” said Elysia Taylor, Vice President and Regional Manager for Peoples Bank. “All kids deserve the opportunity to realize what they can achieve, regardless of their income or background. Peoples Bank Foundation, Inc., is pleased to partner with the YMCA,” added Taylor.
The Marietta Family YMCA has served the Marietta area for over 115 years putting Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Marietta Family YMCA serves over 3,500 members and program participants a year in Washington County, along with Noble, Athens, and Morgan counties in Ohio and Wood and Pleasant counties in West Virginia.
Peoples Bancorp Foundation contributions focus on charitable giving in four major areas: community investment and economic development, youth and education, human services programs that improve the social needs of low- to moderate-income communities and individuals, and the arts and culture.
Organizations receiving grants meet those requirements and serve the markets where Peoples Bank currently has office locations.
