Peoples Bank Foundation awards $66,900 in grants
The Peoples Bank Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit corporation formed to make donations in Peoples Bank market areas, has awarded $66,900 in second quarter 2017 grants to 28 organizations from the bank’s market areas throughout Ohio, West Virginia and Kentucky.
Peoples Bank Foundation, Inc., recipients from Washington County include The Marietta Children’s Choir ($2,000); Washington County Homeless Project/Marietta Community Foundation ($1,000); Washington County Harvest of Hope ($1,000); The Community Action Corporation of Washington-Morgan Counties ($500); Boys and Girls Clubs of Washington County ($2,500); and the Belpre Area Multi-Use Trail ($1,000).
Staci Matheney, chairman and president of the Peoples Bank Foundation, Inc., stated, “The Peoples Bank Foundation is committed to enhancing the quality of life in the communities we serve.” Matheney added, “The Foundation aids non-profit and community service organizations with funding to grow their community impact.”
Peoples Bancorp Foundation contributions focus on charitable giving in four major areas: community investment and economic development, youth and education, human services programs that improve the social needs of low- to moderate-income communities and individuals, and the arts and culture.
Organizations receiving grants meet those requirements and serve the markets where Peoples Bank currently has office locations.
