Foodbank sponsors food giveaway
The Southeast Ohio Foodbank, a program of Hocking Athens Perry Community Action, will be hosting a food giveaway from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Sponsored by AEP Ohio, fresh produce and other food items will be given away to income eligible families who are at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, and are residents of Washington County. Photo I.D. and proof of residency no more than 60 days old is required.

Open house Friday
at job center
An open house for the Ohio Means Job Center at 115 Gilman Ave. (Washington County Jobs and Family Services Building) will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 20. The event is open to employers, businesses, job seekers, and the general public.

Training for board of elections workers
The Washington County Board of Elections will hold an open session of poll worker training at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Those interested can sign up to be a poll worker after the class. The training will be held at the board of elections, 204 Davis Ave., Suite B, Marietta.

Behavioral health board meets
The next regular monthly meeting of the Washington County Behavioral Health Board will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Washington County Behavioral Health Board office, 344 Muskingum Drive, Marietta. In addition, the Steering Committee will meet at the board office at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays (Oct. 17, 24, 31 and Nov. 7, 14).
These meetings and all meetings of the Washington County Behavioral Health Board and its committees are open to the public.

Civitan show, supper
The Pioneer Ladies Civitan Style Show & Salad Supper will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday (doors open at 5 p.m.), at K of C Hall, 308 Gilman Ave. Admission is $15. There will be fashions by Peebles, CATO and Christopher Banks and a purse auction by Williams Auctioneers.
Masterton Lodge 429 Men’s Club pancake breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lower Salem Community Building. The menu consists of pancakes, bacon, sausage eggs, toast and drinks. All money raised will be given to local charities.
