Body pulled from river

From staff reports

The body of a middle-aged Caucasian woman was pulled out of the Muskingum River at approximately 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, according to Sgt. Ryan Huffman of the Marietta Police Department.

By late evening police had identified the woman but declined to release her name. A spokes person said they were investigating the death as a possible suicide.

The body was found near the confluence of the Ohio and Muskingum rivers just south of the Historic Harmar Railroad Bridge by a Marietta Harbor employee, police said.

“The worker noticed it floating and secured it and contacted us,” Huffman said.
