MOVP’s ‘Cuckoo’s Nest’ auditions
Auditions for “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” at MOVP will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Dec. 3, 5 and 6 in the theater annex, 227 Putnam St. Performance dates are March 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, and 24 at 8 p.m. and March 18 at 3 p.m.

Chamber holds monthly After Hours
The Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Business After Hours and Holiday Open House from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the chamber office in the Riverview Building Suite 200, 100 Front St. There will be appetizers, beverages for all ages, and door prizes, including a Marietta Bucks drawing for chamber members worth $500 to spend at the Merry-etta Moonlight Savings Sale. You must be present to win. The drawing will be at 6:15 p.m.

Community meal Dec. 6 at Barlow church
A community meal will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 6 at Barlow Presbyterian Church. The menu is chicken and noodles, mac and cheese, green beans, rolls, salad and desserts. The church is located at Ohio 550 and Warrior Drive.
River of Life Church hosts holiday meal
River of Life Church, located at 200 Franklin St., will be hosting a Thanksgiving/Christmas community dinner free and open to everyone at 5 p.m. Friday. Offered will be turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, desserts and all the fixings.
Food pantry takes Shoebox donations
Gospel Mission Food Pantry, 309 Lancaster St., is accepting donations for its Operation Backyard Christmas Shoebox from now through Dec. 15. On Dec. 23, Santa will arrive at the Gospel Mission and each child will receive a shoe box filled with goodies. Any and all children are invited to attend the event. The following are items we need to fill the shoe boxes: Crayons, coloring books, small toys, travel size games, small puzzles, play-doh, hats, scarfs, gloves, pencils, gum, candy, small stuffed animals, lip balm or any items that will fit inside a shoe box and will bring a smile to a child’s face.
