Franciscan Community Meals
The Franciscan Community Meals board met at Shoney’s Restaurant on Nov. 9.
Chairman Kathy Bartunek opened the meeting with prayer. The minutes were read by Secretary Suzie Walters. Reports were given by Ruth Davis, treasurer, Jackie Lang, driver scheduling, and Ann Corbett, client contract. Officers workers and drivers are still needed. Office hours are 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and a volunteer would be needed at least two days a month (except Monday and Friday workers who work only one day a month). Drivers’ routes usually take less than 1 1/2 hours at least two not more than three days a month. Anyone interested should call the office at 740-373-7998 or driver scheduler, Jackie Lang at 740-373-2010. Anyone interested in having meals delivered to their home should call the Franciscan Meals office at 740-373-7998. Meals can be delivered five days a week at $3 per meal. The Franciscan Meals Program is a nonprofit organization and a totally volunteer program (no paid employees). They are affiliated with Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). Volunteer provide their own vehicle.
