A new executive director will soon be in place at the Marietta-Washington County Convention and Visitors Bureau, announced the board of directors on Monday.

Deana Clark, of Beverly, is slated to lead the tourism promotion efforts for the county starting on Dec. 4.

She is currently the general manager of Burr Oak Lodge and is the former CVB director for Morgan County.

“We are extremely pleased that Deana accepted this position,” said CVB Board President Cheri Seevers, in a release. “We had a search committee comprised of board members, a representative from our marketing firm and a representative from our membership. We reviewed several resumes and conducted numerous interviews with one goal in mind, and that was to find the right fit for Marietta and Washington County. We feel that we were successful in achieving that goal and are excited for her to get started. We have a wonderful tourism product to promote in Marietta and Washington County and are committed to utilize all of the CVB’s resources to attract visitors to the area.”

Previous director Jeri Knowlton left the position in August after nearly seven years.
