Vienna Kmart closing in January
VIENNA – Kmart in Vienna will close in January, officials announced today.
A letter from Sears Holdings company, which owns Kmart and Sears, said the closings will occur in early 2018.
“The company on Thursday … informed associates at 45 Kmart stores and 18 Sears stores that we will be closing these stores in late January 2018,” according to the press release.
The Vienna store is one of three West Virginia stores slated for closure, the others being in Martinsburg and Beckley.
The Marietta Kmart store was not among the five Ohio stores included in the list. No Sears stores in West Virginia or Ohio were included in Thursday’s list.
The number of associates affected was not yet available, according to a spokesman for Sears Holdings.
