Waterford FFA Soils places eighth in the state
The first competition was the Washington County Soil Judging Contest which was organized by the Washington County Soil & Water Conservation District and was hosted by Stollar Farms and the Warren FFA Chapter. The Rural team placed second with Hansell taking 3rd place individually. Hansell was also recognized at the annual Washington County Soil & Water Banquet in October for his efforts.
The second competition was the District 10 Soils Contest which was held at Bob Evan’s Farms hosted by the River Valley FFA Chapter.
The Rural team placed first overall out of 17 teams with Hansell placing first, Saunders placing sixth, Tornes placing seventh and Trippett placed 12th individually out of 75 participants.
The Rural team advanced to the State Soils contest on Oct. 14 which was held at the Farm Science Review in London, Ohio. The Rural team placed eighth overall out of 50 teams from around the state of Ohio.
