Little Hocking Water plans Tuesday shutoff

The Little Hocking Water Association will be turning the water off for scheduled maintenance on Tuesday in the following areas: Village of Watertown, including Ohio 676, Ohio 339 north of the intersection with Washington County Road 109. A boil advisory for Little Hocking customers in these areas will be in effect after service is restored. In the event of inclement weather, work will be delayed until the next suitable day.

Humane Society fundraiser in Dec.

The eighth annual They Light Up Our Lives fundraiser for the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley has begun and will continue throughout the month of December.

Remember and honor the pets that have enriched your lives by symbolically buying a light for $5 per pet on the Christmas tree displayed at American Flags and Poles store on Front Street. Pictures of your pets are also being accepted to be put on the tree.

Forms can be picked up at all veterinarian offices, the HSOV and many businesses. They can be dropped off at the HSOV and American Flags and Poles store throughout December.

All proceeds will go to the HSOV.

Marietta Children’s Choir plans concert

The Marietta Children’s Choir will perform its third annual Christmas concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 9 at First Congregational Church in Marietta. Enjoy a beautiful evening of music directed by Danielle Taylor and accompanied by Karen Picard Young, with guest percussionist Scott Kitchen. The concert is free and open to the public. Goodwill donations will be accepted.

Christmas Day Feast volunteer meeting

The final volunteer meeting for the fourth annual Christmas Day Feast will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall of Marietta First Presbyterian Church, 401 Fourth St. The meeting is open to new and existing volunteers.

The Times will feature photos of area Christmas decorations on page two of the paper during the weeks leading up to Christmas. If you would like to nominate an outdoor display, please send an email describing it to Art Smith at asmith@mariettatimes.com. The display should be clearly visible from a public area. The annual Holiday Loft Tour will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday in downtown Marietta. Tickets are $15 online at mariettamainstreet.org and $20 at the door for the tour, which offers visits to upper-floor businesses and residences around downtown Marietta.

There will be 10 tour stop locations in Harmar Village, Front Street, Second Street and Putnam Street, along with four bonus locations.
