Dulcimer Christmas concert Sunday
Warren Chapel United Methodist Church will host a Dulcimer Christmas Concert at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Refreshments will follow in the fellowship hall. The church is located on Warren Chapel Road about two miles north of Ohio 550 west of Marietta. The public is invited to attend.
Fair Board meets Wednesday night
The Washington County Fair Board monthly meeting has been moved to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Civitan Building. The meeting is open to the public.
Women’s Republican Club meets Monday
The Washington County Women’s Republican Club will meet at noon Monday at the First Baptist Church in Marietta. Please bring festive Christmas food to share and two non-perishables for the food pantry. There will be lunch and a harp concert by Barbara Hintz. All interested Republican women and their guests are welcome.
Soup luncheon Sun. at Masonic lodge
A soup luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Beverly Masonic Lodge. It’s all-you-can-eat with four kinds of soup, along with sandwiches and dessert. Donations will be accepted. Carry-out and deliveries are available: by calling 740-984-2826. The luncheon is being sponsored by Beverly Masonic Lodge Mt. Moriah #37.
Anchorage open for viewing Saturday
The Anchorage, at 424 George St., Marietta, will be open for viewing from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. Visitors will be able to access several rooms that are under restoration, including rooms not open last year. For a donation to the Anchorage Restoration Fund, children can make a Christmas craft item with Prudence Knox Burgardt from Peddler of Dreams Art Space, and “Haunted History” tours of the mansion by Hidden Marietta will be available on the hour for a $10 fee.
Washington County Historical Society board members will also be on hand to explain new programs, planning,and opportunities to volunteer with the society in 2018.
The Village of Lowell Council meeting has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 13. The meeting is open to the public.
