Local hospital sets limit on visitors

The Memorial Health System is currently experiencing a high volume of flu cases.

For the health and safety of patients, visitors and community, they are currently restricting visitors. The restrictions are two visitors per patient, no visitors under the age of 18 and no visitors with flu-like symptoms.

Gallery to feature drum workshop

Lawrence Greene of Athens will be doing a Drumming Workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 13 at Riverside Artists Gallery, 219 Second St. Marietta. The cost will be $12. This class will focus on traditional West African rhythms that are played by Ugata: Drum and Dance. The main drums used are djembes, so bring one if you have it.

Frontier BOE to hold special meeting

A special board meeting for Frontier Local Schools Board of Education is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, following the organizational meeting at 6:45 p.m., to approve a resolution to transfer the local share of the co-funded OFCC project.

The meeting will be held in the high school library.

Church to host a

vendor, craft show

The first vendor/craft show will be held at the Marietta Church Of God from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 20. The church is located at 501 Colegate Drive, Marietta. This event is to help raise money to purchase new Bibles for outreach ministries. Vendors are to set up at 7 a.m. on the day of the event. Spaces are $15 for one space and $10 for any additional space.

The Marietta Township Trustees will hold their organizational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 10. All meetings are held at the Marietta Township Recreation Center and are open to the public.
