Interviews to be conducted for winter crisis program

Face-to-face interviews are required for the Winter Crisis Program/Emergency HEAP and will take place at the Washington County office located at 218 Putnam St., Marietta or at the Morgan County office located at 50 W. Third St., Malta. Hours of operation at both locations will be Monday thru Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The primary purpose of the WCP/Emergency HEAP program is to provide energy assistance to income-eligible households that are threatened with disconnection, have already had service disconnected; need to establish new service, or pay to transfer service; or in the case of bulk fuel customers, only have 25 percent or less of the tank’s fuel capacity at hand. Household’s income cannot exceed the 175% poverty income guidelines. The yearly income for a household of one person cannot exceed $21,105.00; two in household; $28,420 three; $35,735.00 and a household of four; $43,050.00.

Households must bring the following documents to the required face-to face interview:

Proof of U.S. citizenship for ALL household members. Acceptable documentation: Social Security Card, Birth certificate/Hospital records, Baptismal records (only when place and date of birth is shown), Indian census record, Military Service Records or DD-214, U.S. Passport, Verified Citizenship for OWF Program, Voter Registration Card, naturalization paper/certification of citizenship, permanent VISA, and INS ID Card.

Proof of income for the past 13 weeks for all household members (includes everyone 18 years of age and older) (examples: wages, social security, child support, pension, worker’s compensation, and self-employment). If claiming zero-income and being supported by a non-household member you will be required to provide a written statement from them which states how they are supporting you. Written statement must include the date, non-household member’s name, address, phone number, amount they provide, frequency of assistance, and signature.

Social Security numbers and birth dates for all household members regardless of age.

Most recent gas and electric bills. If it is new service, you will need the account numbers.

Documentation of co-payment if required.

Proof of disability (if applicable).
