¯ On Sunday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau began an investigation into the assault of Kimberly Anne Albrecht, who was admitted to Marietta Memorial Hospital for severe injuries including broken bones to her face. Due to the severity of the injuries, Kimberly was life flighted to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Albrecht said her boyfriend, Jason Anthony Dick, assaulted her after an argument ensued at their residence on Saturday, throwing two different tools at her and striking her in the head. He transported her to the hospital and left. Several attempts have been made by detectives to meet with Dick with negative results. A warrant for the arrest of Jason Anthony Dick, of 124 Tennis Center Drive, Apt. 3B, Marietta, for felonious assault has been requested through Marietta Municipal Court. A protection order has also been requested for Albrecht through Marietta Municipal Court.

¯ David L. Cline, of 1944 Briggs Hill Road, Belpre, reported Thursday that his home was entered and numerous firearms removed. This case remains under investigation.

¯ On Saturday, a deputy was dispatched to the 1400 block of Sealy Ridge Road in reference to a female walking up and down the road acting strange. The woman was located with no shoes and she appeared to be talking to a tree. When asked what she was doing, she said, “I’m carving my initials into this tree and talking to my pet pig that’s following me around.” There was no pig at the location, nor anything carved in the tree. She said she was Destany Berga and provided her date of birth. She could not remember how she got there, nor could she provide names of anyone she associates with. Her pupils were constricted and she kept making comments about “tweaking.” She also had what appeared to be recent needle mark(s) on her right arm, which she could not account for. The woman was transported to the Washington County Jail for her own safety and upon arrival jail staff advised they did not believe this female was Destany Berga. The woman was then identified and admitted to being Velinda Bernice Berga, 18, of 613 Charles St., Lot 8, Marietta. She was charged with disorderly conduct by public intoxication as well as obstructing official business. On Sunday, the jail received a warrant for the arrest of Berga from the State of West Virginia, Pleasants County. She was also charged with fugitive from justice.

¯ Richard Shea, of Shea Towing, 19510 State Route 550, Marietta, reported Sunday that a vehicle was removed from the lot without the bill being paid. This case remains under investigation.

¯ Deputies were dispatched to Marietta Township on Sunday in reference to a possible domestic violence incident. After speaking with all parties it was determined to be unfounded.

¯ A deputy was dispatched to the 200 block of Davis Road, Salem Township on Sunday in reference to Northeast Ohio Natural Gas Corp. reporting damage to a building. This case remains under investigation.

¯ On Sunday, deputies were dispatched to 27335 State Route 7, Lot 17, Marietta, to an incident of domestic violence. Scott Ritchie said during an argument his father, Warren C. Ritchie, grabbed him by both arms in an attempt to shake him violently. Deputies could see finger and thumb marks on both of Scott’s arms, consistent with his story. Warren admitted to grabbing his son. Warren Calvin Ritchie, 61, was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.

¯ On Monday, deputies responded to 4640 Oak Hill Road, Stockport, to a possible domestic incident. James Kevin Ohse said he was in bed when his son, James Kevin Ohse II, came into the bedroom and started punching him in the face. James Ohse II admitted to striking his father and said it was not provoked. James Kevin Ohse II, 21, of 4640 Oakhill Road, Stockport, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.

¯ Anthony E. Boswell, of 207 Lancaster St., Marietta, for failure to appear. Original charge probation violation.

¯ Glenna M. Brooker, of 300 Starlight Drive, Lot 12, Marietta, for driving under suspension.

¯ Christi Carney, of 1400 Smith Lane, Whipple, for loose dog.

¯ Erica Kidder, of 941 Swan St., Parkersburg, for probation violation. Original charge cruelty to animals.

¯ Kenneth R. Rogers, of 100 Linwood Ave., Marietta, for failure to appear. Original charge violation of temporary restraining order.

Arrests/Washington County

The following people were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:

¯ William Joseph Carter, Sr., 33, of 405 Fourth St., Marietta, was arrested Friday on two warrants for domestic violence and disrupting public service, both felonies and resisting arrest, a misdemeanor.

¯ Kimberly Dawn Eddy, 31, of 406 Harmar St., Marietta, was arrested Saturday for fugitive from justice, a felony.

¯ Ashley Marie Holdren, 27, of 50755 State Route 248, Long Bottom, was arrested Saturday for theft, a felony.

¯ Matthew Twain Berga, 39, of 501 ¢ Third St., Marietta, was arrested Sunday for fictitious plates, a misdemeanor.

¯ Velinda Bernice Berga, 18, homeless, was arrested Saturday for obstructing official business, disorderly conduct and fugitive from justice, all misdemeanors.

¯ Warren Calvin Ritchie, 61, of 27335 State Route 7, Lot 17, Marietta, was arrested Sunday for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Jesse James Bell, 36, of 4220 Welch Road, Little Hocking, was arrested Sunday on a warrant for failure to appear, a felony, confining or restraining dogs and probation violation, both misdemeanors.

¯ James Kevin Ohse, Jr., 21, of 4640 Oakhill Road, Stockport, was arrested Monday for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Daniel Alexander Baxter, 28, of 707 George St., Belpre, was arrested Monday for probation violation, a felony.
