Mobile food pantry distribution Wed.

Through a sponsorship from AEP Ohio, the Southeast Ohio Foodbank, a program of Hocking Athens Perry Community Action, will be hosting a mobile pantry distribution at the Church of Christ Belpre, 2932 Washington Blvd. Belpre, from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday. Food items will be given away to income eligible families who are at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, and are residents of Washington County. Pre-registration is required by contacting the Southeast Ohio Foodbank at 740- 385-6813. Photo I.D. and proof of residency no more than 60 days old is required.

Baked steak dinner

at Post 64 Jan. 27

There will be a baked steak dinner beginning at 5 p.m. Jan. 27 at the American Legion Post 64, Eighth and Wooster streets, to benefit Relay for Life. Dinner includes baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, roll and desert. The cost is $8 a plate or two for $15. The dinner is open to the public.

Post 389 sponsors public breakfast

The Beverly Post 389 of the American Legion is sponsoring a public breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 21 at the post home on Fifth Street in Beverly. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children 10 and younger. Proceeds benefit the communities American flag displays in Beverly and Waterford.

Free Hearing

Specialty Clinic

The Marietta City Health Department, 304 Putnam St., will be holding a free Hearing Specialty Clinic on Jan 18. This clinic is available to all children under 21 years of age, regardless of insurance or income. Many children come to this clinic after failing school hearing screenings, or have a history with frequent ear infections, or speech delays, or parental concerns regarding hearing. No physician referral is needed. At the Hearing Specialty Clinic, children will receive a hearing test by an audiologist, speech evaluation by a speech therapist (if indicated), and an examination by Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist Dr. Richard Gunovich. Civil War Roundtable meeting Jan. 18

The next regular meeting of the civil War Roundtable of the Mid-Ohio Valley will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 18 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall, 230 Second St., in Marietta.

The featured presentation will be delivered by Brian S. Kesterson, on his recently published book entitled, “Soldier of Courage, Soldier of Compassion; The Story of Capt. Bennett L. Munger, Company C, 44th New York State Infantry.”
