The Wolf Creek Local Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 8:15 a.m. Monday for the purpose of appointing a board member and any other items deemed necessary. The meeting will be held in the Waterford High School Library.
Icy conditions close parts of River Trail
The following sections of the River Trail in Marietta remain closed until further notice due to icy conditions:
South Fifth Street to South Fourth Street.
Armory to the Putnam Bridge.
Marietta Boat Club to the driving range at the fairgrounds.
All other areas of the River Trail are now open.
Belpre school board meets at 2 p.m. Mond.
The Belpre City Schools Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 2 p.m. Monday at the Stone Administration Building/Early Learning Center. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss personnel matters and other matters to be kept confidential by law. It will be an executive session only and no action will be taken.
Commissioners meet at 10 a.m. Monday
The Board of Commissioners of Washington County will meet in special session at 10 a.m. Monday at the Washington County Emergency Operations Center, 204 Davis Ave. (lower level, rear of building), Marietta. The purpose of this public meeting is to consider a response to the Ohio Attorney General pertaining to the Ohio EPA’s requirement to install sewer lines throughout the community of Devola. The public is invited to attend.
New Mat library Story Hour registration
Registration is now underway at the New Matamoras Library for the Winter/Spring Story Hour program. Story Hour is an interactive program designed for 2-through 5-year-olds and their parent/caregiver. The program features stories, crafts, creative play and music while encouraging interaction with other children. Programming will begin on Feb. 14 and will meet on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the library. Space is limited, registration is required.

The O’Neill Center will host a canvas painting party from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. With a step-by-step instruction method, customers without a stroke of painting experience are at ease. This month’s painting will be a snowman taking a leisurely break. The cost is $40, which includes all painting supplies and the finished masterpiece, refreshments, aprons and cleanup. This class is open to the public all adult ages are welcome. Please call early as space is limited and must be prepaid.
