Bridal event at Elite Center

Show will feature 90 vendors

From staff reports

The 2018 Great Bridal Event will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Elite Sports Center in south Parkersburg.

Organized by Crown Event Rentals, the bridal show will feature more than 90 vendors, a style show from Elizabeth Michaels/Hornor & Harrison/Premier Productions at 4 p.m., food and cake samplings, giveaways and other attractions.

Admission is $5 per person with all bride- and groom-to-bes admitted free.

The event will also feature food and cake samplings, thousands of dollars in prize giveaways and a free tote bag for all brides, said event organizer Keith McClung.

A new addition to last year’s event which will be returning– a “groom showdown” prior to the style show. McClung said grooms will be able to compete in a variety of contests for prizes and other awards.

McClung said vendor involvement remains high.

Returning for a third year will be shuttle vans that will take visitors to and from the front door, to the Elite Center’s parking area, the access road leading to the center and along Camden Avenue where many people park.

Looking ahead at this year’s trends, McClung said rustic themes remain popular but the shift back to more extravagant types of weddings is continuing to gain strength.

“Our goal is to have a show highlighting the hottest and newest trends,” while continuing to offer many traditional elements, he said.
