Fire destroys Lowell mobile home
From staff reports
A mobile home at 1470 Weppler Road, Lowell was deemed a total loss Monday after a fire engulfed the home.
The call for the fire went out to first responders at 7:40 p.m. and Watertown, Lowell-Adams Township and Beverly-Waterford fire departments along with the Beverly-Waterford Squad responded.
The structure is owned by David Davis but was being rented to Keith Whealdon, Shasta Libscomb and Eric Barth. Davis told officials that he had not seen the renters for a few days and a neighbor, Gary Best, was the person who saw the fire and called Davis’ mother, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office also reported that Davis had a warrant out for his arrest for having weapons under disability and thus was arrested when he arrived on scene Monday.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
