¯ The owner of Smitty’s Pizza, 500 Front St., reported Jan. 9 that a fraudulent $50 bill was found. The bill was placed into evidence. The case remains under investigation.

¯ Officers were dispatched to the water department at 304 Putnam St. on Jan. 9 in reference to a criminal trespass complaint. Officers located Ryan A. Davis, last known address 106 1/2 Sacra Via rear, hiding in the women’s restroom in the restricted employee-only area. When officers spoke to him, he pretended to use a female’s voice. A female officer made contact with him and he provided identification. He was advised not to return to the water department and arrested for a parole violation. Other charges are expected to be filed.

¯ Bridgeport Equipment, 15 Acme St., reported a theft Thursday that had occurred on Jan. 7. A customer used a bill marked with ‘For Motion Picture Use Only” to purchase merchandise.

¯ Lowe’s, 842 Pike St., reported a theft Jan. 10 that had occurred the previous day. A person had several rolls of wire in their cart and walked out without paying for it. Surveillance video was reviewed.

¯ A shoplifting that had occurred on Jan. 3 was reported Jan. 10 at Bridgeport Equipment, 15 Acme St. The subject changed clothes, leaving their clothing and wearing the new clothing out of the store.

¯ An officer responded to 308 Sixth St. Jan. 11 with the Marietta Fire Department for a possible DOA. A female resident was found to be deceased. No foul play is suspected.

¯ On Jan. 10, an officer responded to Marietta Municipal Court to pick up a female suspect and transport her to the Washington County Jail on a probation holder. Courtney Smith was asked if she had anything she needed to dispose of before being taken to jail and she said she had a bottle of urine. While waiting for a female officer to watch her remove the bottle, Smith put something in her mouth that turned out to be a plastic bag with a crystal-like substance in it. The substance will be tested.

¯ Officers responded to 240 Hillcrest Drive, Apt. 38 on Friday to assist with Anthony Larrison, who fled from the residence after a probation house check. Larrison jumped over a balcony and entered another apartment, escaping through a front door. He was later located and arrested. He was charged with burglary and obstructing official business.

¯ On Friday, officers made contact with Chase Simmons, who was found to be in possesion of a suboxone strip and marijuana.

¯ A shoplifter was reported Friday at Walmart, 804 Pike St. Andrew J. Carey, of 615 Warren St., was arrested for theft. As he was patted down, two hypodermic syringes were found in his pocket. He was also charged with possessing drug abuse instruments.

¯ An officer was dispatched to 104 Riley Drive, Apt. 9 on Sunday in reference to a possible domestic dispute. Kyle A. Davis and his wife, Carrie J. Davis, had been in a verbal argument, during which he told her he was going to put her in the river and that she didn’t know who she was messing with. Kyle Davis was arrested for domestic violence by threat.

¯ During a traffic stop on Sunday in the 300 block of Gilman Avenue, Ashley D. Pannell, of 338 Jarvis Road, Cutler, was issued a citation for possesion of marijuana and for possesion of marijuana paraphernalia.

¯ During a traffic stop on Sunday in the 200 block of Second Street, Celena A. Hardie was issued a citation for possesion of marijuana.

Reports/Washington County

¯ A deputy responded to Dollar General, 27055 State Route 7, Marietta, on Saturday in response to a 911 call from Tabitha Way. Way advised that her ex-boyfriend, Frederick “Rick” McKitrick was destroying her truck in the parking lot. He fled before a deputy arrived. Way said during an argument McKitrick struck her in the mouth and later struck her in the head and threatened to kill her. She had an injury to her mouth and said she was in fear for her safety, and requested a temporary protection order be issued for her and the children. A deputy asked to search her purse and located a clear, plastic baggie with a crystal like substance inside. Way said it was meth. Several syringes were also located. Tabitha Dawn Way, 36, of 7446 Federal Road, Cutler, was arrested for possession of drugs and possession of drug abuse instruments and was transported to the Washington County Jail. Frederick Gale McKitrick, 35, of 1251 County Road Nine, Apt. C3, Marietta, was located and placed under arrest for domestic violence.

¯ A deputy was dispatched to 3645 Blue Knob Road, Marietta, on Jan. 11 to a report of Christopher Mitchell being involved in a verbal argument with his wife, Misty L. Mitchell. It was learned the episode was only verbal, and no threats or acts of violence took place. Misty did report an incident with Christopher occurring sometime between Dec. 26-29 where Christopher did push her, and threw a coffee table in her direction. Christopher denies throwing the coffee table, however states he did move it to pick up pieces of his phone which he threw at the door and broke. Christopher advised during this same argument with Misty she threw a candle and hit him in the left leg. A summons has been requested through Marietta Municipal Court for disorderly conduct against Christopher Mitchell, 42, and Misty L. Mitchell, 40.

¯ On Friday, dispatch received a call in regards to a vehicle parked in the roadway at the intersection of Brownsville Road at Cemetery Lane. An officer with the New Matamoras Police Department went to the site and observed the vehicle and a male subject sitting in it, identified as Levi J. Murner. A pill container was located in the pocket of Murner’s sweatshirt and he said the container held a Klonopin. When a deputy arrived, Murner said he did not have a prescription. Levi Jacob Murner, 24, of 131 E. Pollock Street, Paden City, W.Va., was placed under arrest for drug possession.

¯ A deputy responded to Ohio 7, Marietta, on Sunday to assist the Reno Volunteer Fire Department with shutting down the roadway near the apartments where a fire was located. The fire was extinguished by fire personnel.

¯ On Sunday, a deputy began an investigation at the residence of Jennifer L. Lyons, of 103 Chapel Ave., Marietta, where items were removed from her residence. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A deputy began an investigation at the Dollar General, Orchard Drive, Little Hocking on Sunday, in reference to a shoplifting. This case remains under investigation.

¯ On Monday, two dogs belonging to Christi Carney, of 1400 Smith Lane, Whipple, ran loose from her residence and onto another neighbor’s property. This has been an ongoing issue and when the dog warden was speaking with the complainant, they advised even after being cited in the past, Carney’s dogs continued to run loose. The dog warden is requesting a summons through Marietta Municipal Court for failure to restrain a dog.

¯ Deputies responded to 260 Greenbrier Circle, Marietta, on Tuesday to a reported domestic violence incident between father and son. Chad W. Warner reported he was in a verbal and physical altercation with his father, Charles A. Warner. Chad said he took Charles to the ground and admitted to continuing the violence and scuffle while on the ground. Deputies spoke with Charles and the accounts were the same. Charles explained further that after the initial attack, Chad came back and pushed him into a coffee table causing a small amount of damage to the glass on the table. Chad William Richard Warner, 32, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail for processing.

Arrests/Washington County

The following people were recently processed into the Washington County Jail:

¯ Reid Joseph Tilton, 25, of 745 Greene St., Marietta, was arrested Friday for probation violation, a misdemeanor.

¯ Anthony Robert Larrison, 35, of 2109 Benedict Road, Fleming, was arrested Friday for probation violation, and obstructing official business, misdemeanors, and burglary, a felony.

¯ Chase Luther W Simmons, 32, of 322 Warner St., Marietta, was arrested Friday for probation violation, a felony.

¯ Levi Jacob Murner, 24, of 131 E. Pollock St., Paden City, W.Va., was arrested Saturday for drug possession, a misdemeanor.

¯ Christopher Franklin Rounsley, 39, of 445 Goss Ford Road, Whipple, was arrested Saturday for OMVI second, driving under suspension, failure to control, no seat belt, all misdemeanors.

¯ Frederick Gale McKitrick, 35, of 125 County Road 9, Marietta, was arrested Saturday for domestic violence, a felony.

¯ Ashley Dawn Mahoney, 32, of 1210 Offenberger Road, Whipple, on warrants for breach of recognizance, all felonies. Mahoney was picked up in Ross County and processed into the Washington County Jail on Saturday.

¯ Tabitha Dawn Way, 36, Marietta, was arrested Saturday for drug possession, a felony, and possession of drug abuse instruments, a misdemeanor.

¯ Danny Eugene Thomas II, 38, of 779 Buckeye Ave., Marietta, was arrested Sunday for failure to appear.

¯ Kyle Anthony Davis, 22, of 104 Riley Drive, Marietta, was arrested Sunday for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Jason Ray Wriston, 41, of 11555 State Route 821, Lower Salem, was arrested Sunday for breaking and entering and drug possession, felonies, and criminal trespass and drug paraphernalia, misdemeanors.

¯ Shawn Anthony Miller, 33, of 204 W. Spring St., Marietta, was arrested Sunday for driving under suspension and failure to appear, both misdemeanors.

¯ Perry Jason Stephens, 31, of 110 ¢ Grant St., Marietta, was arrested Sunday for drug possession, a misdemeanor.

¯ Curtis Michael Benson, 25, of 4665 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, was arrested Tuesday for OVI, OVI previous conviction, equipment/headlights required, obstructing official business, resisting arrest, all misdemeanors, carrying a concealed weapon and improper handling of a firearm in motor vehicle, both felonies.

¯ Zackry Pate Taylor, 24, of 242 Pennsylvania Ave., Marietta, was arrested Tuesday for probation violation, a felony.

¯ Chad William Richard Warner, 32, of 260 Greenbrier Circle, Marietta, was arrested Tuesday for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Jennifer Renea Forshey, 35, of 2703 Washington Blvd., Belpre, was arrested Tuesday for domestic violence, a misdemeanor.

¯ Ashlee Nicole Haught, 25, of 489 Sandhill Road, Marietta, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant for theft, a misdemeanor.
