¯ A loose dog was reported Feb. 17 at 20 Charles St., Newport. On two different occasions, the dog went onto a neighbor’s property. The owner of the dog, James Lowers, has been cited four times prior for this same offense. The dog warden requested a summons be issued to James Lowers, 38, of 20 Charles St., Newport, for failing to restrain his dog.

¯ On Feb. 15, the dog warden responded to Waterford Township in regard to two dogs running loose onto a neighbor’s property and chasing the property owner’s dog. The owner of the dogs, Roxanne Spicer, had been warned approximately a month before to register and restrain both dogs which she failed to do so. The dog warden requests a summons be issued to Roxanne Spicer, 38, of 112 Mill St., Waterford, for failing to register her two dogs and for failing to restrain them.

¯ The dog warden responded to Warren Township on Feb. 18 in regard to a dog belonging to Matthew G. Burwell running away from a residence. His dog got loose from his residence in the past and bit a subject, not causing injury, but ripping their pants. Burwell was warned then to restrain his dog which he failed to do. The dog warden requested a summons be issued to Matthew G. Burwell, 33, of 3600 Warren Chapel Road, Marietta, for failing to restrain his dog.

¯ A deputy responded to Waterford on Wednesday to a reported burglary. This case remains under investigation.

¯A deputy responded to Skyline Steel, 12355 State Route 7, Belpre, on Thursday to begin a theft of copper investigation. This case remains under investigation.

¯ A deputy began an investigation Thursday in reference to identity fraud. This case remains under investigation.

¯ Robert Rhodes, of 9235 State Route 60, Lowell, reported Thursday an unknown subject(s) tampering with items on his property. This case remains under investigation.

¯ Deputies responded to Tennis Center Drive on Friday, where Kierson Dunaway reported Juan Salazar had assaulted her. Juan Manuel Salazar, 21, of 122 Tennis Center Drive, Apt. 1, Marietta, was placed under arrest for domestic violence and transported to the Washington County Jail.

¯ On Friday, a deputy responded to Belpre Township to a report of domestic violence. In speaking with all parties it was determined to be unfounded.
