Warren board special meeting April 5

There will be a special meeting of the Warren Local Schools Board of Education at 5:30 p.m. April 5 at the Warren Local Administration Office, 220 Sweetapple Road, Vincent, for the purpose of having a work session relating to the Ohio School Facilities construction project.

Ely Chapman features pets at local theater

Ely Chapman Education Foundation will present an afternoon of Super Stupendous Pet Tricks and a Perfectly Precious Pet Parade at Peoples Bank Theatre at 3 p.m. April 8. Featuring “Moon” Mullen as the musical master of ceremonies and pet impressario, the event will showcase homegrown pet tricks, agility and obedience demonstrations, and humane society shelter pets. Parade registration is open and cash prizes will be awarded for best costumes. For pet parade registration, contact Gary Williams at 740-376-9533. Tickets are $14-$22 and available at the Peoples Bank Theatre box office or online at peoplesbanktheatre.com. All proceeds benefit the Ely Chapman Education Foundation and its programs.

Free money

management class

Ohio State University Extension is offering a free money management class with instructor Amanda Bohlen. The class will take place from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. April 16 at the Extension Office at 202 Davis Ave. in Marietta. This is a one-hour class offering assistance to make budgeting easy. Call 740-376-7431 to register to ensure enough seating and handouts available.

Beverly Eagles host fish fry today

Beverly Eagles will host an all-you-can-eat fish fry at 5:30 p.m. today. The cost is $8. For carryout, call 740-984-4733. There will also be music by Country Fever Band at 8:30 p.m.

Advanced Art Class

at Barlow Library

The Barlow Library will be hosting an “Advanced Art Class” series beginning at 10:30 a.m. April 7. The class will be taught by Robert Little. Participants will complete a 14 x18 charcoal portraiture by grid. Participants will need to bring an 8×10 photo of a person they wish to draw.

This class will run for five weeks and the cost is $50. per person. Sign up is required; space is limited. To sign up, call 740-678-0103.

Clean-up days in Decatur Township will be from noon to 6 p.m. April 5 and 6 and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 7. Contractor material, paint and tires are not permitted.
