4-H club plans

pancake breakfast

The Bull’s-eye 4-H Club will host a pancake breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Marietta Applebee’s. There is a $5 charge. Proceeds go to the Bull’s-eye 4-H club.

Third Sunday dinner at Cutler Center

The next Cutler Community Center Third Sunday Dinner will be from noon to 3 p.m. this Sunday at the Cutler Community Center, 4550 Two Mile Run Road.

This month’s dinner is hosted by the Federal Creek Indian Organization of Ohio. The meal will include: ham, two sides, a drink and a homemade dessert. Meals are $7 for adults or $4 for children and all proceeds benefit the Cutler Community Center. There will also be live music.

Foodbank hosts mobile food event

The Southeast Ohio Foodbank will be hosting a mobile food distribution at the Washington County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to noon April 18. Food items will be given away to income eligible families who are at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and are residents of Washington County. Pre-registration is required by calling 740- 385-4495 to register. Photo I.D. and proof of residency no more than 60 days old is required.

Fort Frye board to meet Wednesday

There will be a special meeting of the Fort Frye Local Schools Board of Education at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Beverly-Center Elementary School, for two presentations on educational visioning and facility review.

Athletic Advisory Council to meet Fri.

The Marietta Board of Education Athletic Advisory Council will meet at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the high school cafeteria. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and evaluate athletic league affiliation, the armory gymnasium and tennis courts.

Castle delebrates ‘Food History’ feast

The Castle will celebrate Marietta’s 230th anniversary with “Food History – A Founding Feast,” at 6 p.m., April 16 in the fellowship hall of First Congregational Church, 318 Front St., Marietta. The dinner served will be the one served along the Muskingum River on the Fourth of July in 1788. The cost is $40 for non-members or $36 for members. To register, 740-373-4180.
