Family and Children First Council to meet

The next Washington County Family & Children First Council Meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Washington County EMA /EOC, 204 Davis Ave., Suite C.

Grandview VFD

festival is Aug. 4

The Grandview Township Volunteer Fire Department Festival will begin at noon on Aug. 4 at Ferguson Park on Grandview Avenue and Ohio 7 in New Matamoras. There will be hay rides, a petting zoo, games, children’s water battle, face painting, dunk tank, country store, gun raffle and more. Food available will include sausage sandwiches, sloppy joes, chicken and noodles, hot dogs with sauce, potato salad, baked beans, desserts and drinks. There will also be a princess and prince crowning and musical entertainment.

Back-to-School pool party in Belpre

A back-to-school pool party will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Belpre City Pool on Blennershassett Avenue. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The event is hosted by Belpre Heights United Methodist Church.

Toy & Doll Museum

to host yard sale

The Children’s Toy & Doll Museum will hold a yard sale/ fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 206 Gilman Ave., Marietta. The annual fundraiser will benefit the nonprofit’s needs which include the operating and yearly fees and maintenance funds for ongoing projects. The yard sale will offer household items, small appliances, garage and garden items, books, jewelry and many miscellaneous items. No clothing will be sold.

Pancake fundraiser for Relay fo Life

The Washington County Relay for Life is having a pancake fundraiser from 8 to 10 a.m. Aug. 4 at Applebee’s in Marietta. Tickets are $5.

The public is invited to experience Art Outside at The Castle from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Several artists will be creating work on the museum grounds during which the public can watch and interact, with finished art available for viewing and purchase. The program will be at The Castle Museum, 418 Fourth St., Marietta, and is free and open to the general public.
