Flower and seed exchange planned The Bring One. . .Take One Flower & Seed Exchange will be held on Aug. 25 in Upper Muskingum Park, in the 500 block of Front Street. Those participating should bring plants at 9 a.m. The exchange will start at exactly 10 a.m. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions. People can bring either a plant, seeds or bulbs to share. Beverly Legion to host steak fry Beverly Post 389 of The American Legion is sponsoring a public steak fry from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at the post home at 114 Fifth St., Beverly. The $12 cost includes steak, baked potato, salad, a roll and coffee. Other drinks may be purchased separately. Gathering event to be at Civitan Park The sixth annual “The Gathering Event” will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 8 at Civitan Park. The event is sponsored by Belpre Area Churches. Everything is free — free food, games, music and more. Cemetery tour offered by The Castle The Castle Cemetery Tour, Symbolism at Mound: Hidden in Plain Sight will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mound Cemetery. Older cemeteries like Mound Cemetery have a large amount of gravestone symbolism. Some of it is apparent, while others hold hidden meaning. Discover interesting grave markings hidden throughout this walking tour of the most famous burial ground. The cost is $5 per person. Mound Cemetery is located at Fifth and Scammel streets in Marietta. Church to host Loads of Love Saturday St. Luke’s Lutheran Church of Marietta is sponsoring a “Loads of Love” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Wash-&-Go in the Frontier Shopping Center . Come, bring your laundry, they’ll pay and do it for you.
