Patrolman promoted to lieutenant at Zanesville post
COLUMBUS – Sgt. William M. Boyd was promoted to the rank of lieutenant recently by Col. John Born, Patrol superintendent, during a ceremony at the Patrol’s Academy. Lt. Boyd will transfer from his current assignment at the Marietta Post to serve as commander of the Zanesville Post.
Lt. Boyd began his Patrol career in February 1997 as a member of the 128th Academy Class. He earned his commission in July of that year and was assigned to the Zanesville Post. He was selected as the Post Trooper of the Year in 2001, 2003 and 2004. In 2005, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant and transferred to the Marietta Post to serve as an assistant post commander. He earned the Criminal Patrol Award in 2007.
He resides in McConnelsville with his wife, Kelly. They have three children; Amber, 19; Ashley, 17; and Austin, 12.
Kincheloe worker retires after 46 years
N. Gale Devol retired from his position as manager of the parts department at Kincheloe Motors Inc in Parkersburg on Dec. 31, 2012. Devol was employed at Kincheloe Motors for 46 years after having obtained a work permit in Wood County at the age of 15 and securing his employment with Harold Kincheloe in 1968. A reception in his honor was held.
