Marietta YMCA adds program director

The Marietta Family YMCA announces that Matt Kress has joined its staff in the position of program director. Kress graduated from Kent State University in 2008 with a degree in parks, recreation and tourism management. Kress has worked in parks and recreation for the city of Green, Ohio, focused on youth programming including archery, golf and summer day camps and at the city of Massillon, where he served as a lifeguard, building monitor and water safety instructor.

Kress’ hobbies/interests include swimming, kayaking, archery, cooking and listening to music.

“I’m most looking forward to serving the community through great recreation programs. I would love to start an archery program and some other outdoor recreation offerings. My biggest goal is to go above and beyond the expectations of our YMCA members and area residents with the quality of our programs!” said Kress.
