Big Sandy charity event raises $9,000

Big Sandy Superstore, a Top 60 Home Furnishings Retailer, based in Franklin Furnace, Ohio, held its first-ever Charity Bonanza Weekend last month. This sale was designed around a “Discounts For Donations” principle, in which customers could choose to make a donation to a participating charity and receive a discount off of their purchase.

Numerous charities, large and small, throughout the Tri-State area partnered with Big Sandy Superstore for this event. “The response to our Charity Bonanza event was overwhelming,” said Dan Evans, director of marketing for Big Sandy. “As was the response from our employees and customers.”

Evans reported that the total amount of donations raised through this Charity Bonanza event was nearly $9,000. The charity selected by the most customers was the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, from the American Cancer Society. Big Sandy presented that group donations of $1,675.

Big Sandy Superstore, celebrating their 60th anniversary this year, is a Top 60 Home Furnishings chain of stores in Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and online.
