Board certified in addiction medicine

Raymond Bruce Henthorn, M.D., was recently awarded board certification in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine.

The newly recognized Board of Addiction Medicine began physician board certification process in 2017 and Dr. Henthorn qualified for the first round of examinees. This rigorous certifying exam sets standards for physician education, assessment of knowledge and tracks lifelong continuing education in Addiction Medicine.

A local area physician since 1982, Dr. Henthorn has devoted his medical practice over the past five years to the treatment of clients with opioid addiction.

Deaton celebrates 25 years at Solvay

Brad Deaton recently completed 25 years of employment with Solvay Specialty Polymers.

Deaton joined Solvay in 1993 as a chemical operator.

He resides in Belpre with his wife, Deanna.

Anderson celebrates 10 years at Solvay

Wayne Anderson recently completed 10 years of employment with Solvay Specialty Polymers.

Wayne joined Solvay in 2008 as a production coordinator and is currently a production unit manager.

Wayne resides in Marietta with his wife, Shannyn, and children, Stuart, Bryget, and Meghan.

BOSS class Aug. 2 at Marietta chamber

Basis of a Successful Start (BOSS) Class will take place on Thursday, Aug. 2, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce, 100 Front St., Suite 200, Marietta. The class is for those interested in starting their own business. Topics covered will include types of ownership, licensing, tax requirements, sources of financing, and how to market your product or service.
