Fracking group will hold public meeting

The Southeast Ohio Fracking Interest Group will hold an organizational meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the group’s plans for 2013. Anyone interested in working to educate Washington County citizens about oil and gas drilling and injection wells is welcome to attend. The meeting will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 232 Third St., Marietta.

Relay For Life team selling cookies

The Angels Among Us Relay For Life team is selling 12-inch heart shaped cookies for $12. Options are chocolate chip or sugar cookies and with messages of “Be Mine,” “Happy Valentine’s Day,” or no message. Ragtime at The Castle event Feb. 3

Ragtime at The Castle with Randall Kidder will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 3 at The Castle. For reservations call 373-4180. Individual tickets are $12.50. Discounts for members are available.

Square dance to aid Fearing Twp. FD

The Fearing Township Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a square dance from 8 to 11 p.m. Feb. 2 at the fire station at 1975 Stanleyville Road, Whipple. There will be music by The Buckeye Travelers. The cost is $5 per person, $8 per couple or $12 per family. Refreshments will be served during the dance.

Money management course being offered

The Ohio State University Extension in Noble County will offer the Manage Your Money course to assist individuals and families with financial basics. The self-study course begins Feb. 12. The course will help participants know where their money goes, how to save, plan their spending, understand credit limits and how to organize financial records in six weeks. Those who want to take part must register by Feb. 4.

Community sing at Cutler Center

Jim Blair and Friends will hold a sing at the Cutler Community Center from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 2. There will be homemade soups, desserts, sandwiches and drinks available at the canteen. The third Sunday sings are scheduled to being again in March.
